Jeff Mills is one of the most influential figures in electronic music and a pioneer of Detroit techno. Emerging in the 1980s as “The Wizard” and later as a member of Underground Resistance, Mills expanded the boundaries of DJ culture through a visionary practice that connects music, cinema, contemporary art, science fiction and performance. Since founding Axis Records in 1992, he has developed an extensive body of work spanning solo releases, audiovisual installations, orchestral collaborations and live multimedia performances. 

Deeply inspired by space and futurism, Mills has composed new soundtracks for films such as Metropolis and collaborated with museums and cultural institutions including the Centre Pompidou, the Barbican Centre and the Louvre Museum. 

He was also among the first electronic artists to perform with symphonic orchestras, further redefining the relationship between techno and classical music. Awarded the title of Chevalier, and later Officer, of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government, Mills remains a singular force at the intersection of sound, technology and imagination.
