Hania Rani

Composer, Pianist

Hania Rani is a pianist, composer and vocalist whose music blends classical, jazz and electronic influences into a deeply immersive and cinematic sound world. Born in Gdańsk, Poland, in 1990 she trained as a classical pianist between Warsaw and Berlin, and now lives in London. Constantly searching for new artistic directions, in 2022 she released her debut symphonical album Non Fiction: Piano Concerto In Four Movements (Decca Records), recorded at the Abbey Road Studios with the Manchester Collective, and presented at London’s Barbican together with Shining, a new ensemble work.  In January 2026, she won the European Film Awards for Best Composer for the soundtrack of Sentimental Value (2025) by John Akomfrah, awarded at both the Oscars and Cannes. In June 2026 she will present her first opera, IF I DO NOT RETURN, commissioned by the  Theatre Basel.
